Revisiting old days from Zanskar Valley, this video shot by Sarath takes me right back, us gunning it from Kurgiyak to Purne. Broken stones, silt and sand everywhere, the motorcycle sliding all over the place, and the GoPro doing its usual trick of making steep inclines look flat.

First time at Shinku La, and even our GPS trackers lost the plot, three devices, three different altitude readings. The air was thin, the silence heavy, and the cold bit through every layer. Wind chill so sharp it numbed your face in seconds. Standing there, gloveless for just a moment, felt like a dare from the mountains themselves.
